Rutha Scott Obituary

It's with heavy hearts that the family of Evangelist Rutha M. Scott announces her transition from this earthly life on Friday, Feb. 16, 2024, to her everlasting life in glory.

She was born on Feb. 19, 1947, in Quincy, Florida, to the late Mrs. Mabel Thomas and Mr. Robert Rolax. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Evangelist Robert Scott, for 54 years as of this June. Together, they had four sons: Robert Scott Sr. (Valerie), Fran Scott (Leslie), Kendrick Scott Sr. (Felisha), and one deceased son, Marvin Scott; they also have one daughter, Monica Scott. 

She is blessed with 10 grandchildren: Jakira, Robert Jr., Alexis, Kari, Kendrick Jr., Alivia, Kennedy, Kason, Kadyn, and Anthony "Ace" Anderson Jr. Evangelist Scott is also survived by one brother, Dr. Willie Adams Jr. (Connie), from Albany, Georgia. In addition, she has two brothers-in-law: Leroy "Peter" Scott (Virginia Deceased) and Deacon Eddie Scott (Dorothy). Evangelist Rutha Scott has co-pastored with her husband for 50 years, traveling and spreading the love of Jesus to others. She also leaves a host of family members, friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Viewing will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the True Gospel Mission Church, 2510 NW 15th Ln Chiefland from 6-8 p.m., and Her Homegoing Celebration will be held on Sunday, Feb. 25 1 p.m., at the Pine Grove Baptist Church of Trenton, 16655 NW County Rd 339, Trenton. Interment will follow in the Jim Milton Cemetery-Bronson, Fl

and The Repast will follow at the Tommy Usher Community Center, 506 SW 4th Ave. Chiefland.
