Kathryn Land McInnis

Kathryn Land McInnis was born on December 21, 1946, to late Al & Chana Driggers Land and was a 4th generation native of Dixie County. She is survived by son Billy Everett (Connie) and daughter Ronda Everett; grandchildren Trent Everett, Serena Miller (James) Kade Everett (Faith) Breanna Berry, Kendra Berry, Michael Royal, Chase Royal, Cameron McInnis (Brittany), Beau McInnis; 12 great grandchildren and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob McInnis, grandson Trevor Royal, sister Hilda Fuller and brothers Alton, Kenny, J.W., A.J. Land.

Kathryn touched many lives both in her Christian walk, and her profession, as she worked in the Dixie District schools for 37 years, and graduated from Dixie County High School in 1964. Kathryn was a cheerleader and on the Homecoming court. She chaperoned many events, trips and conventions and was the Class Sponsor for DCHS classes of 1991 and 2007. She started the “Bear Facts” newspaper and SWAT club at DCHS. She served as a Trustee on the Board for the Florida Gateway Community College since March 1999 and was on the Charity Board of Central Florida Electric Co-Op. She was a leader in almost all Civic organizations like Suwannee River Livestock Fair Association, FFA Alumni, Dixie Chamber of Commerce, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and was a founding board member and President of the Dixie Education Foundation for many many years. 

Kathryn was a leader in all aspects of her life. She encouraged and inspired everyone to further their education and to reach for the stars. She was, kind compassionate, loving, and full of energy. She was a hard worker, independent, and a servant to her church and community.. She gave unconditional love to everyone in her life and was a faithful member of the Cross City Church of God.
