Monica Scott

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Miriam Monica Scott, 42, of Tallahassee, FL, announces her transition from this earthly life on May 10, 2024, to her everlasting life in glory.

Monica, as she was affectionately called, was born on November 23, 1981, to Evangelists Robert L. and Rutha M. Scott (1947-2024). Monica has one son, Anthony “ACE” Anderson, Jr. She was the youngest of five siblings. Her brother Marvin Scott (1979-2000) preceded her in death. She is survived by three brothers, Robert Scott (Valerie), Fran Scott (Leslie), and Kendrick Scott, Sr. (Felisha). She also leaves to mourn family members, friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Monica was a graduate of Chiefland High School and was one of the most decorated students in the high school’s history. She was the drum major in the band, SGA class president, participated in volleyball, basketball, softball, and track, and was voted homecoming princess. She was involved in various other clubs and activities as well. She later signed softball and basketball scholarships and attended Central Florida Community College in Ocala, FL. Afterward, she transferred to Florida State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She would later earn her Master’s in Education Leadership from Walden University.

Monica professed the Christian faith and was a devoted member of True Gospel Mission Church. She took on many leadership roles in the church, helping to make it a great center of service. She was an employee at Montford Middle School and served as a coach and teacher for fourteen years. Prior to this role, she worked for Holy Comforter Episcopal School. At Montford, she served in many roles, such as coach, teacher, and athletic director, to name a few. However, the students endeared themselves to her as she was a great mentor, confidant, and friend to all.
