The founders of Carnegie’s Funeral Home; Al & Liz Carnegie married in 1970. He enlisted with the Military in 1971. They began to have children in 1971 and are now parents of three; Daphina Carnegie, Chassica Carnegie, and Al Joseph Carnegie Jr.
Al Carnegie Sr. started life in the Funeral Industry working with O.B Samuel’s Funeral Home in Williston, Florida at age 15. This is originally where he developed his passion and skill for helping families say their final good-byes to their loved ones. In 1986, After serving the country for fifteen years he returned to Levy County and opened Carnegie’s Burial Service, which helped Al and Liz put all three of their children through College for Degrees in Funeral Service. Then, in 1994 the family established Carnegie’s Funeral Home in Chiefland, Florida. Where Today, they serve many families all over North Central Florida.
Al Carnegie Jr. is a Compassionate Funeral Director dedicated to helping families celebrate the lives of their loved ones and find closure through high-quality and individualized funeral services. He studied at Gupton-Jones in Decatur, Ga.
